Building A Legacy

Building A Legacy

And the little one says.. "Roll Over" and she did!

3.16.09- Ruthie has been fighting with the idea about rolling over... today.. she decided to face her fears and go for it! And she did!! Roll over that is!

Today would start out like any typical Monday morning. Jonathan would head off to work leaving Ruthie and I to fend for ourselves. After a hard weekend (Ruthie fighting sleep and waking every two hours) Ruthie finally slept 4 hours and then another 5 hours bringing in the start of the week. We woke up, I fed Ru and then we came out to the living room to play in her new jungle gym (thanks Great Grandma Yingling) and I decided to give her a few minutes of belly time to start the morning. To my surprise, she leaned to the right and rolled right over onto her back! It was so exciting!! Just to make sure my eyes saw correctly, I did it again (this time with my video camera in hand) and again... she leaned to the right and rolled over! Yay Ruthie!!

Is Ruthie the next Gerber Baby??

3 Months!!!

(3.7.09)

3.8.09- Ruthie is growing up quickly. She is now all smile and giggles. She loves spending time with mommy and daddy and enjoys sitting in her bouncy seat and looking up at her toys. Ruthie just discovered that she can control her hands to reach out and touch her toys. It's very exciting! We're keeping an eye out... right now.. she sucks on her left fingers, knuckles, and thumb but she did reach out with her right hand to touch her toys so we'll see if we have a lefty or a righty... or both!
This past weekend, Ruthie's Opah and Grandma Stube came to visit. The weather was beautiful (in the 70's) so we took a trip to Middleburg and walked down the sidewalks. It was great! We must have tuckered our poor little girl out, we got home and Ruthie went down for what I assumed would be a nap (around 5:30) but she slept until 1:00 am in her crib and gave mommy and daddy some time with Opah and Grandma. It was great to see her sleep so well in her crib. Because she slept so late, daddy and I crawled into bed for the first time without having Ruthie next to us her in pack-n-play. (I was nervous though... and a little sad) Ruthie woke up around 1 am and had a little food before heading right back to bed and slept until 6 am!! GO RU!! Grandma then came and grabbed her and let daddy and I get a few more zzz's.
Also... we have some very exciting new!!! Ruthie is going to have a cousin!! A boy!! Ah! Uncle Nat and Aunt Heather are having a boy!!! We are so excited!

Dear Ruthie--

I can't believe how quickly you are growing into a little girl. Pretty soon you will be crawling and daddy and I are so excited! You are now holding your head up pretty much all on your own. When you are in your bouncy seat and lying back on mommy's chest, you'll pull yourself up so you can see the world! It is so neat! You are such a joy! I know mommy says that a lot, but you are. This morning, you woke up smiling and cooing. It was so exciting. I pulled you into bed with us and played with you before feeding you your morning breakfast. It was so neat! We went to church this morning and you just smiled and sat there like a big girl. Mommy danced and sang with you and you took it all in. :) You have a "favorite"!!! We must not leave home or try to put you down without your puppy. I don't know what you'll call it someday... but you take every nap with your puppy and grandma's blanket. You'll rub it up against your face and fall fast asleep! We love you so much Ruthie.

Love, Momma and Dadda

(Uncle Nat Visiting)

I guess Ruthie must have interrupted my last blog because I realized that I didn't write about Uncle Nats visit to hang with the Rooster and of course, Jonathan and I. We had such a great time visiting with Nat. He arrived on Thursday evening and we stayed up talking and sharing stories (Ruthie will remember them all I'm sure!!) Friday morning, we got up and decided to go to the Air and Space Museum and then grab some lunch at a brewery. Ruthie LOVED the Air & Space Museum. She turned her head side to side looking at all the neat shiny objects that caught her attention. We decided to ride one of the 3D rides (which made me really sick) but Ruthie enjoyed it! Thanks Uncle Nat for coming to visit!! We can't wait for your little one to be born!!

Ruthie Meets Uncle Eddie
2.27.09

We went up to PA to visit family and for Evan to meet his little niece. :) We had such a wonderful time visiting. Ruthie was all smiles (as always) and showed off her cuteness to her Uncle! We all hung out and ate some fabulous meals (thanks Marmee) Grandma Yingling, Aunt Tana, Uncle Kerry, Jason, & Kyler also came down to visit. Ruthie is now on a more fixed schedule, so she called it an early night and went to bed around 8:00 but that didn't keep the rest of us from sitting around and sharing fun stories.
We also got to stay and go to church at PVCC on Sunday! It was so great to see all of my friends and to sit and worship with my family. The weekend, of course, went by so quickly and before we knew it, it was time to get back in the car and head home (but not before one quick game of euchre)

While we were in State College, we also got to visit with my oldest friend, Shannon (since 2nd grade!) and her daughter, Emma (born on Ruthie's due date!) We had such a wonderful time visiting and holding each others little girls.
