Building A Legacy

First Day of Preschool- Brayden

Brayden began his first day of preschool on Tuesday, September 2nd 2014. He was not as eager to go to school. (see picture above)

What do you want to be when you grow up? A train

What is your favorite thing about school? playing- starts with P

As soon as we got to school- things turned around. He saw lots of classmates smiling and posing for pictures, and with that, Brayden was ready. He took me to different spots at school to pose for pictures. He was adorable!! When we got to the classroom, he entered and we started putting his things away. Brayden was the first one to find his apple sign in and quickly put it up on the tree to show Miss Janie and Miss Bills he was here! I started to show him the room when he took off for Mr. Potato head- and that was that. He gave me a quick hug and kiss goodbye and there I stood, with tears in my eyes as my baby boy didn't need me for one more minute.

Brayden LOVED his first day!! I expected one or two words about his first day- but to my surprise, he talked to me the whole way home and the entire time through lunch and then crashed in his bed for a nice good nap! He made friends, played with cars, had a friend get in trouble for standing, got to slide like Ruthie, and much much more!

His 2nd day of school was equally great! He was the floor detective and made sure everybody helped clean up to "Down By the Bay"

This sweet boy has become one of my greatest buds! He's been so helpful around the house. We read books together, make words and write them down, and he helps me keep the house clean.

What are you most looking forward to this school year? Meeting new friends

When I grow up I want to be? Preschool teacher

My first friend I made is? Pepper and Ryan and Asher in the other class

What is your favorite thing about school? Double Recess and Buying Lunch

What was the best part of your day? Playing outside and swinging upside down

The best thing that happened today was? Double Recess!!! And riding my bike to school!

Ruthie's day started off nice and sweet. Mommy and daddy (after being up all night unable to sleep with the anticipation of their little girl going to school) got up and mommy made Ruthie chocolate chip pancakes. We sang Happy First Day of School to our sweet girl and let her chow down as I packed some of her favorite foods for lunch in her Owl Lunch Box (Little Whoo E) and we started getting dressed and ready for our big day!
We had lots of fun taking some fun pictures of our sweet girl and then Ruthie got on her bike and the boys in the stroller and away we went off to one of the biggest days (thus far) of Ruthie's life- Kindergarten.

It was a great ride to school. Ruthie had the biggest smile on her face as she rode proudly to her school (Corl Street). She had me walk her to the door and then it was a quick hug and kiss and she was ready- she let go of my hand and walked proudly to her teacher. I backed slowly and instantly, the tears started. Did this really happen?

I'm not going to lie- I watched the clock throughout the day, eager for the end of her school day so I could grab her in my arms again. She had a GREAT day!! Made a few friends and was ready to head down to Grange Fair for some rides and fun! Mommy made a special trip to McDonalds to celebrate a full day of school.

We're over a week in- and she continues to LOVE each and every day!! Mommy still struggles as I miss her so much but I'm so happy for her. Up next- Preschool :)

Dear Ruthie,
I can't even believe we're here. The day I've know was coming but thought it would never arrive. Your first day of kindergarten. I am so excited for your new adventure. For the friends your going to meet. For the things you will learn. You're going to do great things my sweet girl and I can't wait to see what God does through you. You're a light in this dark world. Continue to be yourself. Love others well. Be a friend. A nice, caring, compassionate friend. You're ready for this day.
