Building A Legacy

Building A Legacy

9 Weeks ...

So, after much thought, I have settled on a baby name for this little one. DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

EDWINA

It's Jon's middle name with a twist! :)

So- we are just shy of week 10 and the Stubes are ready to go on Vacation for two weeks. I can't believe by the time we return home, I'll be days away from my 2nd trimester and well, ready for my next doctors appointment! I'm looking forward to some much needed Rest and Relaxation and also spending some time with Jon's parents. Don't judge me, but probably the thing I look forward to the most is AIR CONDITIONING!! haha!

Ruthie still has no idea her life is going to change. We try to point to my belly often and tell her "baby" but then she'll go around pointing to my chest and saying "mommy, baby!" ... hmmmm not quite little one!

Ruthie is such a joy! I can't believe how big she's getting. Yesterday at Target I bought her a set of flashcards. She can and has been able to recognize about 10 letters from the alphabet. It's amazing. Around 18 months we were walking through a store and Ruthie shouted "P!!!!" and was pointing at the PRICE sign. I was shocked! She LOVES her ABC book but I thought she was just memorizing the letters in the book- not actually learning the letters!! Go Ruthie!! Since we found out we were expecting at 18 months, it's only fitting that she learned the letters: P U K E first :)
One of my new favorite things is Ruthie has learned how to say "Ruthie- ... "Uthie"" followed by learning how to say "Blair- "bye bye Blair" :) Too cute!!

A lot of fun these last few days/weeks. Can't wait to share more and more to come!!

8 Week Appt

What a wonderful day to be Erin Stube. I am so excited to share with you my first doctors appointment and all the fun happenings this pregnancy has brought so far! I don't really even know where to begin, so I think I'll start off with the ultrasound! How fabulous it was to see my growing baby, watch the steady heart beat and know that I am bringing another life into the world in a few short months!! I loved every moment of the ultrasound. Both Jon and Ruthie were with me and we all looked at the little peanut as the doctor introduced us to our new little member!

I really enjoyed my doctor and already began praying she will be with me in the delivery room! She was fabulous! She took her time with us and really answered all questions and concerns. This hasn't been an easy pregnancy up to this point, and I look forward to the day where I can eat again, but I am still so thankful for this little one and can't wait until February. Though, I still don't know how I'm going to love this one as much as Ruthie. Ruthie has been such a joy and I know my heart will expand, but how? It feels pretty full to me! :)

One of our concerns/questions is having a natural child birth. I'd really love to have a natural child birth but there are a lot more risks after having a c-section. Of course, if all looks good, (I should know in 4 weeks) the doctor will do everything she can to help me have a natural child birth, but they'll be watching me closely and making sure there are not any complications.

Another not so fun note is that they are labeling my pregnancy as high risk. I'm not concerned really because I was high risk with Ruthie as well, and my Von Willdebrands really didn't affect the delivery, but still. They are also going to treat me for Gestational Diabetes because Ruthie ended up being such a big baby. And because I was so sick, the tests could have been a little off. We'll see- again, I'm not concerned. I'm hoping a few pricks to the finger and they'll change their minds.

All in all, a great doctors appointment. I see the doctor again in 4 weeks and also have an appointment with the hematologist. How exciting!!

Love you Baby Stube!!

19 Months Old

Happy 4th of July
19 Month Fire Cracker!!

My sweet girl is 19 months old. Again, I struggle to find how that is possible. She's such a sweet girl with a great personality. She is def my child. Lots of fire cracker in this one!! She is so much fun and such an easy child, I wonder how different this next little one will be?!?! If the babe is anything like sister Ruthie, transitioning from 1 to 2 will be a piece of cake. (shhhh... don't say the word cake around Ruthie... she fully understands what it is and knows she wants some... especially from Opa)
We spent the 4th of July weekend going through Penns Cave and going to the park with Gaga and Opa while daddy earned the big bucks at Starbucks! We had a wonderful time. Ruthie loved the attention of all four grandparents in one place. It was so great having all 4 parents around for the 4th.

Of course, we ended any specular 4th of July weekend at Eric and Pinky's for their 4th of July party with a great view of the fireworks. Ruthie was exhausted and fell asleep shortly after the fireworks began, but it was a great time. Wish I could have eaten, but hey, there's always next year!!
