Building A Legacy

40 Days or Less!

40 Days ... or Less!

So much to think about as the due date closes in... It's so exciting to think in 40 or so days I'm going to be holding my precious son or daughter ... our third child... possibly our last. I really wish I could start being pregnant from 16 weeks on-- how much easier it would be on my body and my family if I didn't start off so sick at the beginning.

On Friday I had my 32 week doctors appointment. I'm measuring perfectly and the baby's heartbeat is strong. I had a few concerns since I'm having contractions throughout the night and just a lot of pressure so the doctor decided to do a stress test even though at the moment- I was feeling great and comfortable. It was nice to sit in a nice comfy chair (I will admit) for 20 minutes without any interruptions!  I had 20 beautiful moments of peace and just to hold my belly and listen to his or her beautiful heartbeat. Everything looked great. She said it could be the amount of water I'm drinking before bed. I'm so thirsty right before bed and will sometimes down 5 water bottles right before turning off the lights. (I'm lucky to finish 1 bottle of water a day when I'm not pregnant!!) She said it could be my bladder has too much water and it's causing contractions?!?! So weird!!

I'm also loosing more sleep then gaining at this point. It doesn't seem to matter if I go to bed at 9 pm or 11 pm- I am just not comfortable any more and the baby really picks up his or her movements as I try to calm down and relax. Heartburn also creeps in each and every night... ugh!

I met with my hematologist last week and my B12 is down right after having another injection... In a few weeks when I get my last blood draw before baby #3 comes they will be testing me for a rare genetic anemic disease. My hematologist believes I most likely have this since my B12 and iron are always low even with weekly and monthly infusions. Ugh!! I just hope that after this little one comes I don't have to get many infusions before and after I leave the hospital. I just want to enjoy and rest with my little one as much as I can and not be overwhelmed with extra doctor appointments that last a day!

Our child still remains nameless -- I'm not overly worried. I know we're not going to leave the hospital without the perfect name for this little one-- I just wish we could narrow it down to a few great ones ;) We've had lots of great suggestions but nothing that's really stuck out.

Brayden & Ruthie are very excited for this new arrival. We have planned to have Ruthie and Brayden bring in a little gift for the baby and we'll celebrate the birth of their brother or sister with cupcakes and little gifts from the baby. :) I also just purchased a book for Brayden explaining his important role as a big brother :) We'll see how well that helps!!

32 Weeks

32 Weeks

I am in love with this squash growing inside of me. I cannot wait-- we are down to 7 weeks and I couldn't be happier! We're still struggling on the baby names but I know we'll get there. One thing I know for sure is we won't leave the hospital without naming this precious one. Jon stumbled upon the Name Genie which I actually used back when I was looking to find a middle name for Ruthie. (4+ years ago!) It has some funny and unusual ideas for us. Skyler Sky Stube ... seriously... isn't that the same name?!?!

These last few nights have gotten pretty uncomfortable. I am def running out of room and the heartburn is effecting me day and night! I am constantly feeling this one moving an elbow or knee and somehow he/she still has room to flip around?!?! Ouch!

Friday is my last appointment for meeting every 2 weeks and then... yes, we start meeting weekly until this little one makes it's debut!! I am so excited. I also had blood work taken and will get the results in two days. I have a feeling my iron is depleted again and that has something to do with my lack of energy... that and dealing with sick kids ... it can really take a lot out of a person-- especially a mommy of two almost three!

Stay tuned!
