My Baby's Three
~~~Brayden Timothy~~~
32.1 lbs (56%) and 37.5" (45%)
Brayden Timothy-- it doesn't feel right to say you're three!! Wow! Time has flown!! I love the strong-willed man you're becoming. Right now- it's not always fun to watch you as you stand your ground on simple bodily functions like pooping on the potty OR to getting enough sleep throughout the night-- but I know you're going to do great things for the Kingdom of God and that makes me really excited and helps me through the long nights of telling you "get back in bed"
I just love your awesomeness. You have the greatest scowl that you carry well but underneath that scowl is one of the greatest smiles and love that I've ever witnessed. You are indeed a sweetheart. One of the greatest testaments to your love is the love you have for your baby brother Marshall James. From the moment he came home from the hospital you have sang to him, patted his back, kissed his forehead or cheek or whatever body part was closest to your reach. You have helped him with his po, covered him up when you thought he was cold, and do whatever you can to keep him happy and from crying. Not once have you raised your voice at him or gotten upset with him. Yes- I know all to well that this will not last forever-- but in Marshall's vulnerable days- you have handled him with care and unbelievable love. Thank you Brayden.
You also look up to your older "bossy" sister. You just love her so much and will do anything to please her. I love watching the two of you play "Lady and the Tramp" (especially when you're eating spaghetti like puppy's) and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. You're not always as willing to let Ruthie slide when she's doing something like stealing one of your toys- but you do love her and that's so wonderful to see as your mommy. My kids love each other!
So Brayden-- what an incredible year it has been. Not always easy-- like I said before, potty training and keeping you in your bed for a full night of rest has not been easy- but you've come a long way and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for you! One of those being-- you'll be starting preschool in the fall! Ah!! I can't believe I was signing you up for preschool on your 3rd birthday. How time is quickly moving.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Surprise-- I wanted to make your birthday a very special day. One that you'd treasure and know how much your mommy loves you. So- when you went to bed on your birthday eve-- I hung red and black balloons from the kitchen ceiling and taped a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to the wall. On the table- I placed Mickey Mouse picture frames I painted with your adorable pictures and the famous 'letter b". I also placed a few birthday presents on the table. Next, I hung a sign on the front door and hung balloons from your bedroom door. I was so excited- it took me a while to fall asleep!! I think we had a successful day! You smiled constantly and at the end of the day- thanked me for everything. Saturday is your party with your friends and family. I can't wait to bring out a few more surprises and just bless you-- you deserve the best my sweet boy!! I love you!
At age 3--
Brayden doesn't require as much sleep as the other two :) -
You head to bed at around 8pm and wake up usually around 7 but it's very normal to hear you a few times throughout the night :)
You are potty-trained during the day but still wear a pull-up at nap and bedtime. You can usually stay dry during naps but bedtime it has only happened a few times.
You are starting to poop on the potty (instead of waiting for bed) but there has been a lot of positive and negative reinforcements to get you there!! oy!
You have outgrown most of your allergies- we will be getting you tested shortly for peanuts and see where we stand. We'd love to hear you've outgrown this as well. Considering the love for peanut butter we all share.
You're into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Trains, Planes, and Cars!! But you also love playing imagination like Jake and the Pirates, Lady and the Tramp, and Frozen.
You are picky at the dinner table, but once you taste it- you normally finish your plate.
You have mastered your 123's and ABC's-- you know each of their sounds- what letter different words start with and can write most of them. You are also learning sight words- you just love to learn and it's fun to sit down with you and Ruthie :)
