Building A Legacy

4 Month Appt & Letter

(Ruthie's 4 Month)
(April 9, 2009)

Ruthie had her 4 month appointment today. She is hitting all of her milestones early and the doctor is very impressed. She weighed 15 lbs 13 oz (in the 90%) and was 25 1/2 in. in height (in the 90%) and her head circumference was 16 1/4 in. (in the 50%)
The doctor suggested that we start introducing her to some rice cereal but I'm kind of hesitating on giving her solid foods. I enjoy her nice yellow (non-smelly) poo's and most importantly, I'm really enjoying breastfeeding and want to continue that for as long as I can (or until 1 years old!)
Ruthie got two shots today and did very well. She cried (which I expected) but I fed her right afterwards and then she cooed the whole ride home. She is resting peacefully now.

Ruthie declares... I'm a CUBS fan!!
Go Cubs Go--- Go Cubs Go
Hey Chicago what do you say... Cubs are going to WIN today!

Dear Ruthie,

My sweet daughter, you continue to amaze me each and every day. I love watching you discover new things. Here are some of your new discoveries: You love sleeping on your side (just like mommy and daddy) I can't put you down on your back without you turning right over onto your side. In the beginning you favored your right, but now you do either side. I also can't lie you down in your crib and expect to come in and find you in the same position. You are constantly exploring. You now fall asleep on your own most times sometimes not before playing in your crib and talking to your toys for twenty minutes or so. Sometimes I even here you singing! You absolutely LOVE to suck your thumb. You still need you Po to fall asleep, but a lot of times it will fall out in the middle of the night and you'll use your thumb. I hope to be completely rid of the po by your 6 month birthday. :) (we shall see)
Did I tell you yet that I absolutely LOVE being your mommy. It is so rewarding. We have so much fun together. You're so much fun to be around and I look forward to each new day ahead. I can't believe you'll be crawling here before too long and then soon after that, walking. Let's slow down a little... please :) Keep smiling and singing. You're such a beautiful baby and your mommy and daddy love you so much.

Love,

Mom

This outfit was given to you from your God-Mother K8.
You wore it to go meet your new cousin, Ava Grace and to see your Godparents: Uncle Blair & Aunt Kat.

Look at your HUGE smile!! This smile lights up the room! You were so excited to meet Ava!

The girls are 3 months a part!!

We had such a wonderful time hanging with Kat and Blair and getting to know our beautiful Goddaughter, Ava Grace. Jonathan and I are so excited to share this journey with our dear friends and are honored to take part in Ava's journey. We spent the majority of the afternoon with them and just enjoying watching our girls sleep. I am looking forward to many more hangouts with the Drakes and for Ava and Ruthie to grow up together.
