My little girl turned 16 months on Easter Sunday! Time continues to fly and I love every (EVERY) moment of it. Ruthie really is a gem. A precious gem. I know that all mothers love their children, but I can't even imagine not having these last 16 months with my little girl. How precious she is. How much she loves to explore and learn about her world. What a great time the two of us have together. We can now have little conversations about the trees or the butterflies or even the squirrels. Now I'm not going to pretend that I know everything she is saying, but a happy face and a "Yes Ruthie" does the trick- and she continues to share with me- how great it is to be Ruthie Stube.
Easter fell on my little girls 16 month celebration, so of course, we had some fun with it. I have been saving my Christmas money, for, well, clothes?!?! BUT!! A little sale on a little red wagon changed my plans, and ... yes, I bought my darling girl a wagon. SHE LOVES IT!! I hid some plastic eggs around the living room and put her wagon in the middle of the room for her to see- and it was an instant success. All my hard work (putting the wagon together) paid off! She went in and out, out and in- all morning long. So much fun!! [16 Months marks another HUGE (and scary) milestone for my growing girl- CLIMBING! How does one learn to climb? She is also learning to do stairs like a big girl- mommy is not ready for all the bumps!! She received her first goose egg a week ago!! She (like her momma) is clumsy at times and ran right into the door frame!! OUCH! I've never seen a goose egg pop out as quickly as I did on my little girl... eek!! Yes, she's fine!! She cried for a few moments and then was jumping on her parents bed (while they tried to get ready for an evening out!)] Ruthie Mackenzie was very excited to put on her Easter Dress!! She sat there an smiled bright as I placed the dress over her head. She then was excited for her hair to have some pretty purple bows, and oh yes... purple jellies!! SUCCESS!! She looked great- and her mommy and daddy didn't look to bad themselves.
Another huge success- Ruthie is being weaned from her bottle (ooh ooh). I'm very excited but also a little sad. I know I know- I should be thrilled, but it's another mommy and daughter moment that we've shared (since I stopped nursing) that is ending. She is a lot more cuddly these days though, falling asleep in my lap when she's exhausted and loves to be close to her mommy when we're playing on the floor. :) Happy times!

To sum up her 16th month- we got climbing, jumping ("ey"), many new words: baby, Piper, squirrel, mommy, bless you, down, wagon, park, PARK!! It's been so wonderful. Each day, I thank God for my little blessing. She just brings so much joy to us. Happy 16th Baby Girl!!
Dear Ruthie,
You are an amazing, fun spirited little girl. You must think all I do all day is just stare at you (and you're mostly right!!) I just love watching you learn and enjoy life. It's such a blessing to be your mommy and I can't get over how blessed I am to have YOU- Ruthie Mackenzie Stube- you, as my little girl. I love you so very much.
Love, Mommy

I love the blog, honey. Nice work. And Ru, it gets harder every day to spend time on my studies and not with you. Thank God I have only one year left!
Happy Easter Stubes! I miss you three and hopefully will see you all again soon. Jon you will have to impart words of wisdom for graduate study.
Your pal,
Joe-nah
