28 Week Glucose Testing-
Today was my 28 week appointment that included the Glucose Test. I arrived hopeful that I could get through the awful drink and not have to do the 3 hour fasting test that is just so hard to schedule with work and family life! I was given the choice between orange and fruit punch (both flavors I hate!) I decided fruit punch had the best chance. Within a few seconds I realized that I was probably not going to be able to finish without puking. When I made it halfway I started dry-heaving. I really didn't want to have gotten halfway for nothing... but it wasn't looking promising. I dry-heaved four more times in the 10 minute span BUT ... I made it!! I finished the drink and was able to get my blood work completed (even if I was spinning around the room!) I've never felt so shaky!! Now I wait and see if I passed or failed. I believe 100% that I don't have any issues with gestational diabetes-- but I think 90% of the woman fail the first test and I WILL NOT take the 2nd test. So, lets just hope that I pass!!
I met with Dr. Roquet this morning. She's so sweet!! She confirmed that I'm overdoing it and that I need more rest. ha ha! She insisted that I try really hard to listen to my body and rest as much as possible. Today I will begin meeting with a doctor every other week! I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by!!
So-- we wait! We wait to see how the glucose test went and I'll meet with Dr. Roquet in two weeks!!
