Building A Legacy

Building A Legacy

I hear you God! :-)

This is just one of those posts to say... I don't understand... but I'm going to listen.

10.15.08-
I headed to the Urologist yesterday to see what my options are for the pain I've been experiencing with the Kidney Stone and where I'm heading with this pregnancy. Basically I have two options:
1) The Stent-- They would surgically put a stent up through my urethra into my kidney and then down to my bladder. It would relief the pain I'm having from the stone but could be pretty uncomfortable. This would be placed and left in until after I deliver. It's about the size of a straw and obviously... not something I'm jumping on...
2) Vicodin-- The doctors said the most important thing is to cut off the pain the kidney stone is causing. The reason being-- with this pain, my body is contracting which could send me into early labor. (the labor is sounding better and better) (hehe :) )

Anyway... I don't really want to heavily drug myself which is also drugging my unborn child... and I don't want to have surgery... so I'm at a Catch 22.

So... After lots of thought-- Jon and I decided we would try the Vicodin only when I absolutely needed it and would go from there to see what would happen.

Here is what happened:

I left the urologist yesterday-- headed to the Target pharmacy to get my prescription. I had to drive myself because Jon had more work to do. I walked into Target, back to the pharmacy... no prescription. No problem... I'll just walk around and get some groceries. After a while, I headed back... nothing! I called Jon and asked him to stop and grab it on the way home. Nothing! I called the doctor and left a message stating my prescription hadn't gotten through to my pharmacy. Finally around 10pm I got a phone call stating that my doctor did send in the prescription. But they sent it into Safeway. Grrrr! Thankfully I had a good nights sleep and made it on my own.

Today-- I took it easy today. I was in some pain, but I felt okay. Drinking, Drinking, Drinking LOTS of water! I decided to go with Jon to Wednesday Night Dinner at the church for some dinner. Afterwards (around 8:46) we took off and headed to Safeway to grab my prescription. (It closes at 9-- but we can make it!) Well... not if there is a horrible accident on 7... and not if going around the accident to get behind someone very slow and then get behind a construction vehicle... NOT THEN!!! So yes-- another night without any pain relief incase I need it.

GUESS I'M NOT TO USE VICODIN!!! I GET IT! I GET IT! I GET IT!!!!
