Building A Legacy

Christmas Is Approaching
Ruthie is turning 3 Weeks!

Ruthie is such a joy. She has already changed significantly since she entered into the world. She lost a pound and several ounces and got down to 7 lbs 14 oz. The doctors were a little concerned, so they had me pump and bottle feed her for 24 hours to make sure she was getting enough to eat. Thankfully, she gained a few ounces and I was given the okay to go back to just breastfeeding. Because I have great luck, I came down with a yeast infection so then it was hard for me to breastfeed Ruthie because it was quite painful. Again, thankfully, things have gotten better and both Ruthie and I are doing a lot better.

(Uncle Epic & Aunt Pinky)

Uncle Epic and Aunt Pinky come to meet Ruthie. Ruthie meets her first four legged friends as Murphy and Snickers also come to meet the new addition.

After a trip to Nashville, TN, my parents traveled to our place for some games of Euchre and of course... to see Ruthie! We had a great time visiting... but of course, time went by way to quickly.

(Ruthie at 3 Weeks)
Merry Christmas!

Ruthie turned three weeks old on Christmas Day! What a wonderful day to celebrate! Jonathan, Ruthie, & myself celebrated by relaxing together and just enjoying each others company. Ruthie is changing day by day. Her eyes are changing from a dark blue to a dark brown. She is smiling more and more and today (12/26) giggled slightly. It’s so neat!! We are working on getting her into a routine. I know it will take some time, but she’s doing great and even though sometimes we get little sleep, we really can’t complain. Today actually, she’s been really sticking with our schedule:

Wake Time/Sleep Time/Feed

Jonathan is back to work now, so I’m trying to learn how to balance my time. When Ruthie is awake, I devote my time to her and spend time talking to her and just smiling at her. She is learning to smile back and I can’t wait for her to find her voice and start cooing.

Ruthie has been struggling with reflux. After some feedings, she’s had trouble keeping down all of her meal. We took her to the doctors and they’ve put her on some medicine. She HATES her medicine, but in the last 24 hours seems to be doing better.
